Shanika Washington was a 47-year-old African-American girl who appeared in Kidsongs: I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing and in Kidsongs: Sing Out, America!. She cameo appeared in the first video as a banana carrier in the song, "Day-O". In the latter video, Shanika became a leading Kidsongs kid, appearing in the songs, "America's Heroes" and "If I Had a Hammer". She was also one of the Kidsongs Kids to be featured in the intro of the first season of The Kidsongs Television Show from 1987 to 1988.
